On Thursday, March 15, 2018, the City of Torrance Office of Economic Development honored local businesses for their innovative economic development strategies for the year 2017. Winners were announced and recognized at the 11th annual Torrance Advantage Awards ceremony held at Ganahl Lumber Company at 2600 Del Amo Blvd., which opened in 2017.

Winners received a prestigious Torrance Advantage Award crystal trophy, $200 to help with basic operating expenses and a signed letter from the Mayor of Torrance. They also will be featured in City promotions such as the website, Torrance Seasons and other advertising avenues. Award winners in the four different categories included:
