Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC)
Founded in 1913, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce leads the way as the premier business organization in the Los Angeles South Bay, with members spanning all industries. The Chamber serves small businesses and large corporations alike. In order to help its members succeed in business, the Chamber keeps it mission in constant check by maintaining the following core competencies: creating a strong economy, providing networking opportunities, supporting the interests of business with government, and promoting the community
The Torrance Area Chamber puts these competencies into action to provide members with the tools and opportunities they need to gain visibility, credibility, and profitability.
South Bay Workforce Investment Board (SBWIB)
SBWIB’s One-Stop Business & Career Centers provide an array of “off-the-shelf” and specialized services to assist local companies in meeting their hiring goals, lowering training costs, improving employee skill levels, reducing turnover rates and managing a more qualified workforce.Services are frequently customized to meet specific business and industry employment requirements.
To ensure local businesses have workforce development and other support they need, SBWIB provides a broad range of services through our One-Stop system and we are preparing to launch additional services that will be available online.

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
Whether you want to grow your business or are interested in starting a business, the SBDC can help. The Los Angeles Regional Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is funded in part by the Small Business Administration (SBA). It provides individualized consulting and training to new and growing businesses.

SCORE Long Beach/South Bay
SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. Since 1964, we have provided education and mentorship to more than 11 million entrepreneurs.

California Manufacturing Technology Consultants (CMTC)
CMTC, a private non-profit corporation, was established in 1992 to provide consulting services to small and mid-size manufacturers in Southern California. CMTC operates through a cooperative agreement between the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the Department of Commerce.
California Manufacturers Advantage® (CMA) is a program designed for small and medium sized manufacturers providing a fresh review of your business, bringing technical expertise and leadership to identify and solve problems. Each year our advisors assist hundreds of manufacturers in identifying and implementing solutions to remove barriers to growth.

Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC)
Since 1981, the LAEDC has worked to attract, retain and grow businesses and quality jobs for the 10 million residents of L.A. County.
Business Assistance staff is dedicated to providing business assistance services and answering any inquiries. Services include help with permitting, incentives, workforce development, and financing assistance, as well as project management and connections to public/private resources, cities and regional EDCs.

Los Angeles County Consumer and Business Affairs
The Department of Consumer and Business Affairs serves consumers, businesses, and communities through education, advocacy, and complaint resolution. Our mission is to create a fair and vibrant marketplace for consumers and businesses.
Recycling Marketing Development Zone (RMDZ)
The Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ) program combines recycling with economic development to fuel new businesses, expand existing ones, create jobs, and divert waste from landfills.
This program provides attractive loans, technical assistance, and free product marketing to businesses that use materials from the waste stream to manufacture their products and are located in a zone. The zones cover roughly 88,000 square miles of California from the Oregon border to San Diego.
Assistance is provided by local zone administrators. Local government incentives may include relaxed building codes and zoning laws, streamlined local permit processes, reduced taxes and licensing, and increased and consistent secondary material feedstock supply. Local incentives vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. In addition to loans, CalRecycle offers free product marketing through the RecycleStore.
Torrance is part of the Los Angeles County RMDZ.
Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)
A geographical area, in (or adjacent to) a United States Port of Entry, where commercial merchandise, both domestic and foreign receives the same Customs treatment it would if it were outside the commerce of the United States.
Torrance is within a Foreign Trade Zone. Both the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach operate FTZ’s.

California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz)
The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) was created by Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr. to serve as California’s single point of contact for economic development and job creation efforts. GO-Biz offers a range of services to business owners including: attraction, retention and expansion services, site selection, permit streamlining, clearing of regulatory hurdles, small business assistance, international trade development, assistance with state government, and much more.
The Small Business Unit provides small business assistance through inter-agency projects, informational workshops, and direct advocacy. It also maintains a comprehensive list of resources for small business technical assistance, financing, and state procurement.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit is the state’s primary point of contact for promoting California’s innovation infrastructure. It functions to develop an environment that encourages entrepreneurship, promotes long term economic growth and facilitates job creation through innovation. This unit is primarily responsible for the administration of California’s Innovation Hub (iHub) Program.
Small Business Administration (SBA)
Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses.
