On Thursday, November 14, 2019, at approximately 5:38 p.m., Torrance Police Officers responded to the area of 220th street and Western Avenue regarding shots fired.

On July 01, 2017, the Torrance Police Department began investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred in the 2000 block of 169th place. The elderly victim was in her home preparing lunch when the suspect broke in.
During National School Bus Safety Week Oct. 21-25, The Torrance Department is supporting efforts across the state to make sure children are safe taking the bus to and from school.
National Teen Driver Safety Week is Oct. 20-26, and the Torrance Police Department is asking parents and guardians to take the time to discuss with their teen the rules of the road intended to keep them safe.

On Thursday, September 19, 2019 at approximately 12:03 PM, Torrance Police Officers along with the Torrance Fire Department responded to the 25300 block of Crenshaw boulevard in regard to an airplane that collided into a building.
The Torrance Police Department received a $175,000.00 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for a one-year enforcement and education program. The money will fund various activities intended to reduce deaths and injuries on California roads.
