Torrance, Calif., September 13, 2023 – The City of Torrance will test the outdoor siren system strategically located within the City for the second time since being installed. The Torrance Neighborhood Outdoor Warning Sirens or TorranceNOW will take place on Thursday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. It will include a chime and text to voice announcement. This alert system is designed for early warning to the community in the event there is a significant emergency requiring a call-to-action.

TorranceNOW Sirens are part of the overall Torrance Community Warning System, which includes Torrance Alerts, Torrance Refining Company Siren, Crenshaw/Del Amo Barrier System, CitiSOUNDS radio, CitiCABLE, Emergency Alert System, and the recently tested Beach Emergency Evacuation Lights Systems (BEELS).
